Altered frame

The long awaited DecoArt products arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait to get started on the frame for my Alice in Wonderland collage. I used a selection of DecoArt Fluid Acrylics (Raw Sienna and Metallic Gold), along with White Crackle Paste and Carbon Black Antiquing Cream to create this frame:

At first I thought it maybe a bit dark for the picture but it's growing on me.

Had a fab day with the Mad Scrappers at our Scrapbooking Saturday event today. Very impressed with the standard of creativity they produced. Everything from Lego figures bursting into our world to a collage depicting 'crafts' in all their glory! Fantastic frame finishes getting created.... must see the finished articles ladies. A quick thank you to all that attended - loved it.

Alice In Wonderland Collage

It's our Mad Scrappers 'Scrapbook Saturday Event' tomorrow and I have been working on this Alice in Wonderland themed collage for the deep box frame we will be working with.

I used Graphic 45 'Hallowe'en in Wonderland' Collection and fussy-cut elements from the patterned papers and re-arranged them in foam tape backed layers (to add depth and dimension) to form this picture for the frame. I have added metal elements in the form of the key and key-hole and a little bottle with 'drink me' tag attached.

I'm still waiting for my DecoArt products to arrive so I can transform the plain wooden frame.  Hoping to get everything ready in time for tomorrow. See you all at 1.00 p.m. ladies.

Edinburgh Mini Album

This is the front and inside cover of the mini album I created of our day trip to Edinburgh last year.  I used papers and stickers from the Echo Park 'Everyday Memories' kit, which we will be using at our Mad Scrappers 'Scrapbook Saturday Event' this weekend:

I used the cork effect paper from the Echo Park collection pack for the front and back covers.  I added 'polaroid frames' to highlight the calendar and journal cards, overlapping them slightly.

I used another 'polaroid frame' as a pocket to add train and bus tickets. As well as being decorative it keeps the tickets secure.  The tabs pull-out to reveal other pages inside.

I've decided on how to paint the deep box frame - just waiting for the products to arrive!  Will post more soon.

Mad Scrappers: Scrapbook Saturday Event

It's our first Mad Scrappers Scrapbook Saturday Event of 2017 this weekend. As usual we will be creating/eating/playing/quizzing for 5 whole hours this Saturday! This time we will be creating with Echo Park 'Everyday Memories' Collection Kit, a 12x12 deep box frame and an Echo Park 'Rectangular Chipboard Album' that has interactive pull out tabs.

Lots to get through in the time (I predict some home work for this one!). I am working on my creation for the deep box frame and have nearly completed the chipboard album (just a few finishing touches). I have managed to make a 12x12 layout with the remaining papers from the collection pack called 'Weekend Celebration':

I love this collection kit as it comes with 6 12x12 double-sided patterned papers and a fab 6x12 Sticker Sheet. The papers are perfect for a range of different layouts. I can't wait for Saturday ladies to see what you all create.

Lacey Lovely

This is the third layout I made with this month's Mad Scrappers Kit of Kaisercraft 'Ubud Dreams' patterned papers. The photograph is of my lovely Niece (who lives in Canada), when she was only 18 years old. I used some of the Bazzill Plastic Paper from a previous kit on this one and embossed it to compliment her lovely lacey dress.

We all had a lovely time last night at our monthly club meeting. I'll see most of you all again on Saturday 18th February at our 'Scrapbook Saturday' event.

Good Times

This is the second layout I have made with this month's Mad Scrappers Kit. The kit contains patterned papers from Kaisercraft 'Ubud Dreams' range. I added a chipboard phrase (from a previous kit) to complete this layout.

See you all on Wednesday ladies.

Just Smile

This is the first of three layouts I have managed to create with this month's Mad Scrappers Kit. The kit includes patterned papers from Kaisercraft 'Ubud Dreams' range, coordinating cardstock and Kaisercraft Mandala Gloss Paper.

I used the Mandala Gloss Paper on this layout (the photograph doesn't do it justice). It can be coloured using distress ink or sprays or any medium that lets the gloss resist shine through.

I added some flowers, tag, button, and cork alphas from my own stash. I will post another layout soon. Thanks for stopping by.
