Final pages .....

The final pages to show you of the Travel Journal I made using the Basically Bare chipboard album and Teresa Collins Far & Away Collection Kit.

I made pockets to store tickets and memorabilia from our holiday on the stiffened felt tag shaped pages.

I made more 'flap pages' for photographs and to add journaling ....

that reveal other photographs underneath.

The other side of this page is similar with spaces for photo's and journaling:

With 'flaps' that also lift up to reveal space for other photographs underneath:

The inside back cover will show our journey home:

On the back page, I have written some travel quotes:

I really enjoyed making this Travel Journal and once I have added the final photographs and journaling it will be a treasured keepsake.  Thank you for taking the time to stop by - please leave a comment to let me know you have passed by this way.

More pages ....

I thought I would share some more of the pages from my Travel Journal just in case you haven't got access to Facebook (where I have posted all the pages).

Following on from the travel arrangements page .... I decided to put in some details of the hotel that we stayed in:

I made a 'flap' that contains photographs on both sides - it opens up to show the page underneath, which has a pocket for a map (which I did have but somehow on Saturday it got mislaid).  I still have to do some journaling on this page to complete.

The other side of this page tells the story (when I add the journaling) of how we got lost on the first night we were there - only to find this quaint little 'English' pub - how convenient!

I will share some more pages tomorrow.  Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by.

Easter Bunny: clue

A clue to where the bunny is:

I am hiding somewhere where the colour (not neccessarily the shade) is associated with Spring!

Hope this helps!

Further clue:  the bunny is hiding under something that is 'a shade of green' - too easy now!

Easter Bunny!

Seeing as it's the Easter weekend I thought we would have a little game today.  The first person to find the Easter Bunny - hidden somewhere in The Scrapbook Garden shop will get 10 entries into the draw for today (if you are a follower - see rules).

The little Easter Bunny looks like this:

This little bunny is hidden somewhere in the shop - the first one to find it and leave a comment here to say where it is hidden will get the 10 entries!  Good luck!

Travel Journal: full reveal of pages

At last I have had time to post these photograph's of the 'full reveal' from the 'sneaky peek' pages I posted last week.

The cover of the Travel Journal:

Inside the cover - showing the travelling arrangements:

Scrapping on canvas: I decided to cover the edges with rick rack as this gives it a bit more substance and stops the ends from curling over.

Scrapping on acetate:  It is lovely to have little sneaky peeks of the page underneath.

I have photo's of the full album on my Facebook page and will post the remainder of the album pages down the left hand side of this page.

I hope this Travel Journal has inspired you to create one of your own.  We all had loads of fun (and hard work of course) last Saturday - it is so much better to craft with others.

Thanks for stopping by - please leave a comment to let me know you have passed by this way.

Teresa Collins: Summer Stories

We could do with a bit of this - 'Summer Stories' - I hope the weather isn't too bad where you are?  I can't believe that it is soooo cold and it is Spring and the clocks go forward this weekend to mark the official start of British Summertime!

Anyone that reads this blog knows that I am a BIG fan of Teresa Collins.  Her patterned paper ranges are always gorgeous, so different and fabulous quality!

Well, she has done it again with this range, which I have on order and will be in stock mid-end of April.  If you pre-order online here before the stock arrives you will get the Collection Pack for less than the RRP.  This offer is only open for a short while.

This is the collection pack

This is the paper range (they are double-sided - so more gorgeousness on the back) and did I mention that they were also glittered!

These are the die-cuts!

I will be stocking this range in Collection Kit only, which includes 9 sheets of double-sided 'glittered' patterned papers and a 12x12 die-cut sheet - fabulous!  I have limited stock, so first ones ... gets the goodies at this price.

Kate's Layouts

Kate is one of the ladies from our scrapbooking club and she has created two lovely layouts using this month's club kit of Prima Engraver patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock and Prima Engraver Tiny Alphabet Stickers.

A lovely layout showing a photograph of Kate's Great Grandma

Another layout showing her Great Grandad

Thanks for sharing these with us Kate.  I love looking at vintage photographs and these are fabulous.  The Engraver patterned papers are great for vintage and modern layouts.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave a comment to say that you have passed by this way.

Just to share a few of them here:

Julia's gorgeous front cover!

Karen's fabulous Dublin Travel Journal!

These are just a few of the gorgeous, fabulous, travel albums being made on Saturday.  We also had a very good day - thank you ladies!  It makes my day to see you all happy!

Scrapbooking Day: 23rd March

Another great day yesterday with most of the 'Mad Scrappers Club' members attending one of our 'scrapbooking days', where we meet on a Saturday and scrap for 5 hours (with breaks for refreshments of course).

They say 'a picture paints a thousand words':

Taking a well earned rest

Blissfully unaware of the camera!

Smiley, smiley Janice!

 A group photograph!

Loads of lovely work done yesterday - will post more photographs of the little mini albums later.  Thanks for stopping by - please leave a comment to say you have passed by this way.

100% Authentic - Genuine Boy

I usually create more female layouts, having two Daughters and three Granddaughters (and only 1 Grandson).  I thought I would use the Scrap365 Sketch Challenge layout for this month along with the fab new MME Remarkable 'Authentic' patterned paper bundle to create one for the 'boys'.

This is the sketch from Scrap365 from a design by Sian Fair

The layout tells the story of my Niece's Son (who live in Canada) and how he has grown over the years.  I have only ever seen him as a baby but I get regular photographs each year and can see how he is changing - still a gorgeous boy!

The MME 'Authentic' bundle contains 1 sheet each of 'Genuine' and 'Original' patterned papers, 2 sheets of co-ordinating cardstock (Bazzill matched), a Journal Card and Title.  I cut my title in half and can use the other half as a sub-title on another layout.  I cut the arrows on the Cricut and the swirls and rosette on the BigShot.

Do you tend to scrap layouts containing mostly female or male photographs?  Leave a comment to let me know.  Thanks for stopping by.

Travel Journal - sneaky peek!

It's the scrapbooking day tomorrow with the Mad Scrappers Club members - 5 lovely hours of uninterrupted scrapping time (apart from the eating cake bit!).

All arrangements for the day are well and truly underway - Basically Bare chipboard albums and Teresa Collins 'Far & Away' Collection Kits all packed and ready.  Food and refreshments all bought and ready to be freshly made tomorrow and packed for delivery to the venue.  Products for the 'shop' I take along with me - all packed up and ready for eager crafters.  Travel Journal sample made up and ready to share with club members - all done!

It only leaves me to give you a 'sneaky peek' on what they will be making:
Behind the classy exterior .. lurks lovely textures and hidden pockets:

I started with the travel arrangements

Added Rick Rack to the canvas page

Scrapped on acetate

It does look better when you see the whole picture - will show you after the event.  I am hoping to have loads of photographs of the club members enjoying their day, along with plenty of samples of their creations!

Thanks for stopping by - see you back here tomorrow.

Christine's layout: Sneaky Peek

The scrapbook club I run meets every month and I source and put together a kit for them to work with.  We have been going under the name of The Mad Scrappers for nearly a year now (a name they chose themselves).  Previously, some of the members and myself have been scrapping happily together for over 5 years.

The kit we used in January consisted of Echo Park 'For the Record 2' patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock and a Ranger Paint Dabber in Snowcap.

Christine has been with our club for less than a year and the other night she brought one of her finished layouts along and allowed me to share it with you.

I love how Christine has added her own little picket fence with flowers.  The photographs are adorable!  Well done Christine a truly lovely layout.

We will all be meeting up again on Saturday for one of our 'special Saturday' club days, where we spend 5 lovely long hours scrapping and crafting together.  I even make them a lovely afternoon tea, when we all sit around and have a good old natter (and eat cake of course).

I am sure I will have loads of photos to share with you after the event.  In the meantime, thanks for taking the time to pop by.

New Products!

Just thought I would give you an update on some new products that have just arrived in The Scrapbook Garden shop over the past couple of days.

Last week I uploaded Bo Bunny 'Isabella' patterned papers onto the website and I have a 'bundle offer' on that line - when you buy 6 sheets of the paper you get two sheets of co-ordinating cardstock free of charge!

I have also put a 'bundle' together on the Echo Park Oh Snap Collection Kit, Basically Bare Album and Basically Bare Paparazzi Embellies - buy together and save.

I thought this would make a lovely alternative to the Teresa Collins Collection Kit and Basically Bare combo - this suits all types of photos!  There is a sticker sheet with images of cameras and film related words as well as journal cards that are ideal for mini albums.

If that's not your cup of tea, what about the MME Remarkable 'Authentic' selection - 2 sheets of patterned paper, 2 sheets of cardstock, a journal card and a title, altogether in one package!

Something for the girls and the boys and the camera/film buffs!  You can view all the new products here.

Do you like to work with co-ordinating items or are you a bit of everything type of crafter?  Leave a comment to let me know.  Thanks for stopping by.

Published: The Witch'n Hour

I was pleasantly surprised to see one of my layouts in this months edition of the Scrapbook Magazine in the 'Your Layouts' section as I hadn't sent this in as a scraplift!  I had originally created this 'Halloween' themed layout as part of one of the scrapbook kits (October last year) and sent it into the magazine when they had a section on 'Halloween' themed layouts.  Anyhow, it's been published and I'm happy!  This is the original:

Here is the section from the magazine:

Do you enter any scraplift, sketch or colour challenges?  Leave a comment to let me know.  If you are a follower you will get the usual entry into the blog candy draw.  Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Mwah!

I have been waiting for the right papers to come along to scrap this photograph of my youngest granddaughter in one of her 'lovee' poses!  If there is a camera around, you can be sure she is willing to pose - but not for much longer I suspect.  As they get older there is more reluctance to 'smile for the camera'.

Anyhow when the gorgeous Bo Bunny 'Isabella' papers arrived I couldn't wait any longer to scrap this photo.

The background paper is called 'Isabella' (the same name as the range) and is beautiful in itself.  All I needed to add was the photograph, doily, journal card (cut from 'Felicity' patterned papers), some die-cut swirls and butterflies and paper flowers and gems!

The paper flowers and gems are from my own stash (old Prima e.line range) but they co-ordinate beautifully with this paper range.  Did you notice the tiny butterflies - they are from a tiny little punch I found amongst my stash recently.

Waiting of a delivery tomorrow of more goodies, so will be making up some samples to show you (it's a hard job but someone has to do it!).  Leave a comment to let me know you have passed by this way and if you are a follower, you will get an entry into the blog candy draw.  Thanks.

March Kit: A time for change

This is the final layout Joanne has made with this month's scrapbook kit of Prima Engraver patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock and Prima Engraver Tiny Alphabet Stickers.

Joanne has added quite a lot of text to her layout using the Tiny Alphabet Stickers for part of the title, a sub-title down the left hand side of the photograph and at the bottom left hand side of the layout adding names and date.

I like how Joanne has used the 'stems' on the patterned paper to add some Prima paper flowers.  The use of the 'clocks' cut from the patterned papers is a clever reference to the theme of the layout.

Drop by tomorrow as I have another layout to show you using the fabulous Bo Bunny Isabella collection.  Leave a comment so that I know you have passed by this way.

Starting Out in Life

Another layout I created using the Scrap365 sketch challenge for March using a black and white theme this time:

This is this the sketch:

I used black and white patterned papers from Delish Designs - so classy and timeless!  I have used this patterned paper on several different layouts and they always look great.  I added a splash of colour with some red cardstock punching out some little hearts and making some 'roses'.  You will have noticed too that I have added the Prima Engraver Mini Swirls (another favourite now).  I wasn't going to enter this one in the challenge, I just liked the layout and changed it slightly for this page.

Do you have a favourite patterned paper, embellishment etc., that you like to use over and over?  Leave a comment and let me know.  Thanks for popping by today.

Scrap365 Sketch Challenge: You

I thought I would enter this month's Scrap365 Sketch Challenge using this sketch from Kim Woods:

This is my take on the sketch:

I used Bazzill Sugar Cream for the base of this layout and patterned papers from Glitz Design 'Uncharted Waters' range.  The chipboard word and stars are from Tando Creative.

These patterned papers are part of the scrapbook club kit for April, along with co-ordinating cardstock and the brand new 'Anchors Roller Doodle'.

Unfortunately, when I have come today to enter this sketch challenge I find that it has closed - even though it states it is open until 11 p.m. on 15th March!    I have still enjoyed the challenge though.  Thanks for stopping by today.

March Kit: The Key ...

This is the first layout from Joanne this month using the scrapbook kit of Prima Engraver patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock and Engraver Tiny Alphabet Stickers.

Joanne used the Prism Black cardstock for the base (gutting out the centre) and layering this up with circles of Sugar Cream cardstock and patterned paper from the kit.

The photograph was matted onto some of the black cardstock and all the elements on the page are cut from the patterned papers.  Joanne has used foam tape to give dimension to the cut out elements and added some black ribbon from her own stash to one of the keys.

The title is a quote from google using a mixture of the Engraver Tiny Alphabet Stickers and American Crafts Thickers.  This is a great way to use up those Thickers and letters that are from different fonts.

Thank you Joanne for creating this layout and allowing me to share it on this blog.  I have another layout from Joanne, which I will post on Saturday .... I have something else to show you tomorrow!  Remember to pop back tomorrow and see.  If you are a follower and you leave a comment you will get 1 entry into the blog candy draw.  Thanks for stopping by today.

March Kit: Growing up Fast!

This is the third and final layout I have created this month with the fab Prima Engraver patterned papers.  I used Calligraphy (without cutting it up) as the base of this layout as I love how the pattern lends itself just to add a photograph and embellishments!

All I added was some Bazzill Prism black cardstock as a photo mat and layered up the left hand side of the photograph using an inked doily, die-cut swirls, hand made fringed flower and some sentiment stickers from the Tiny Alphabet Sticker Sheet included in the kit.

I made a little journal pocket by cutting a slit across the tag shaped piece (under the photograph) and added my own handmade tag.  Using a piece of patterned paper from 'Cartouche' patterned paper, I cut out a tag shape and added an eyelet and some string.  I made a 'pocket 'on the back of the layout for the tag to sit in.  For the title I added some American Crafts Thickers and Engraver Tiny Alphabet Stickers.

Joanne will be showcasing her layouts starting from tomorrow.  Remember to pop back then to see her ideas on using this kit.  Thank you for stopping by.
