May's Scrapbook Club Kit Layouts

Here are some more layouts made with this month's scrapbook club kit of Teresa Collins 'Stationery Noted' patterned papers (Poppies, Polaroids), co-ordinating cardstock and Teresa Collins 'Stationery Noted' Decorative Buttons.

This is a layout from Annette:

I love the quirkiness of the title, the black arrow and the overall design.  Fabulous layout Annette - thanks for sharing with us.

Here is a layout from Janice:

Another one from Janice:

Two fabulous layouts from Janice.  She has made the beautiful photographs the centre point of her layout (as you should) but the patterned papers from this month's kit are just perfect for these two layouts.  Your patience of fussy cutting out the poppies from the patterned papers has really paid off and look fantastic.  Thanks for sharing Janice.  I look forward to showcasing your Tando Creative Clock when you finish it.

Please leave a comment for Annette and Janice who have kindly shared these layouts with us.  Thanks for stopping by today.

You are My Sunshine

I can now reveal to you the layout that I created using the Scrap 365 layout for June, which I featured a sneaky little peek last week!  The Sketch Challenge this month is based on a layout by Birgit Koopsen who created her layout using Gel Plate Printing techniques.

I decided to use the fab new Glitz Design 'Sunshine In My Soul' patterned papers for my layout, using three different patterned papers and the equally fab Glitz Design 'Sunshine In My Soul' Titles & Accents Sticker Sheet.

I used Bazzill Avalanche for the base of this layout and layered this up with the patterned papers (I used Stripe, Suns and Ledger from the range).  The title, arrows, hearts and chevron strip are all from the Titles & Accents Sticker Sheet.  I just added a paper doily and some small buttons from my own stash to complete.  The journaling (the words to you are my sunshine) were printed onto Safmat and placed on the lines of the Ledger paper.

I will be entering this layout into the Scrap 365 Sketch Challenge for June.  Thanks for stopping by today.

More from Scrapbook Saturday!

There was a good turn out on Saturday, even though I had arranged the day on a Bank Holiday weekend (not always a good idea as some of my club members always go away those weekends).  Never-the-less, we still had a good day and as well as the Tando Creative Clocks, the ladies even managed to create some layouts as well.

The first layout I challenged them with was a sketch from Scrap 365 for June:

This is Karen's layout using this sketch:

This is Linda's layout using this sketch:
Two different approaches to this sketch.  I used this sketch also, for the little sneaky peek I showed you the other day - will reveal tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by.

Tando Clock Creations!

We all had a lovely day yesterday at our 'Scrapbook Saturday'.  Some of the ladies decided to have a go at decorating a Tando Creative Printer Tray Style Clock.  They start off in life like this:

This is Joanne's clock:

This is Annette's clock:

This is Karen's clock:

This is Linda's clock:

This is Sue's clock:

Thanks for sharing with us ladies.  I was blown away by the creativeness of everyone who decided to make one of these lovely designs from Tando.  Janice still has hers to make - look forward to seeing yours when completed.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave a comment so I know you have passed by this way today.

'I Love You' layout

I created this layout using patterned papers from the brand new Glitz Design 'Sunshine in My Soul' range.  I used Bazzill Dotted Swiss Scalloped in Honey for the base along with Bazzill Prismatic White cardstock.

I punched holes in each of the scallops around the edge of the Honey cardstock before attaching to the White Prismatic cardstock base.  I layered this with patterned papers from the range - Stripe (reverse side) and Suns (used reverse side).

I used stickers from the Glitz Design Sunshine in My Soul 'Titles & Accents' Sticker Sheet to embellish the page, adding a button from my own stash.  I matted the photograph onto a piece of the Bazzill Prismatic White cardstock to make it look like a Polaroid camera photo.

A fairly quick and easy layout of my own design to use up some of the left over pieces of paper from the previous layout I created for the sketch challenge on Saturday.  I will reveal that layout in full after the event.

Please leave a comment to let me know you have passed by this way.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Sneaky Little Peek: Layout for Saturday!

I have been creating some layouts using the fab new Glitz Design 'Sunshine in My Soul' patterned papers with a sketch challenge for Saturday.  Although I cannot show you until after the event - here is a sneaky little peek:

I have used three of the patterned papers (they are all double-sided) from this range, along with the lovely Titles & Accents Sticker Sheet.  I love stickers - they are fabulous if they match with patterned papers from the same range and these ones are truly gorgeous!  I even used one as my title!

I have another layout I can show you in full (but you will have to wait until tomorrow!).  Thanks for stopping by - please leave a comment to let me know you have passed by this way.

'Have a Smashing Time!' Workshop

The next Saturday workshop I have planned (after this Saturday - no rest for the wicked!!!) is on Saturday 31st August 2013 and I have named it 'Have a Smashing Time!'.

There is a bit of a clue in the title on what we will be creating with on this day - namely a brag book!  It isn't the K & Co. SMASH range but the equally fab Fancy Pants Design Artist Edition Brag Books.  I say books as there are 4 different colours in this collection: Brown, Black, Red and Cream.

This is the Brown Brag Book and it has a customisable cover, 60 scrapbook/journaling pages, 15 - 2 slot photo protectors (holds up to 60 4x6 photos), and 15 pocket folder pages for storing your favourite memorabilia!  If that's not enough it is also divided into 12 segments for a full year's worth of memories and designs.  It is ideal for scrapping on the go, journaling and/or planning your day to day life!

As well as the Brag Book the ladies will be getting some goodies from the K & Co. SMASH range to add to their pages and we will be doing some 12x12 scrapping as well, along with our usual challenges, prize draws, afternoon tea and generally having a fab time!  Really looking forward to this one!

I have a couple of these fab Brag Books left over - so if you would like one you can find them here.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Saturday Crop

It is one of our Scrapbook Saturday's this coming weekend (25th May).  Another day of fun scrapping and making one of those lovely Tando Creative Printers Tray Style Clocks.

This day was organised to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day as we couldn't get the room hired for 4th May (so a belated celebration!).  Looking forward to getting some scrapbook layouts done for then - and possibly doing another clock.  As much as I love this Printer Tray clock the time has come to create another one - possibly in more girly colours this time - what do you think?

I'm spoilt for choice in what patterned papers to use - what about those lovely brand new Glitz Design 'Sunshine in My Soul' papers?  Or what about a retro style using the Glitz Design 'Cashmere Dame' (still one of my favourites!).  Have a look at what I have in stock and make your choice.  I value your opinion.  You can view what patterned paper ranges I stock here.  I also have other patterned papers in the clearance section.

Leave a comment to let me know what patterned papers I should use.  Thanks for stopping by.

Photo's from Papercraft Show

Thank you everyone who made yesterday such a roaring success at the Ross Papercraft Show at Nissan, Sunderland yesterday.  The turnout was great, the atmosphere was fantastic and the crafters equally so!  I met a lot of lovely people (as usual) - regular customers as well as brand new ones and some that are coming to my new scrapbook club session starting in September (more about that another time).

Just thought I would show you a few photo's of my 'little shop' at the show:

The hall has been re-designed, so I was unable to display as many of the layouts I usually do as the green space behind this display is a canvas material!

Some of the K & Company SMASH goodies - will be getting more of this range!

All the lovely new patterned papers on display and waiting for new homes!

I was unable to take any photographs of customers browsing as it was just too busy!  I enjoyed the day - it's hard work but fun at the same time.

I am in Edinburgh with the Ross Papercraft Show on Saturday 1st June at the Meadowbank Sports Centre.  If you live in the area or thereabouts I would love to meet you all - looking forward to it!  Thanks for stopping by today - leave a comment so I know you have passed by this way.

SNAPSHOT of the day

I thought I would share with you this layout I started to create using the Carta Bella 'Happy Little Moments' range with the Echo Park Photo Freedom System.

This is a fairly simple layout at the moment as I need to add some journaling and some embellishments but I just wanted to show you how easy it is to get started - even to a hardened scrapper like me, this is still a creative process and it is a fairly quick way to get an album finished.

I used patterned papers from a range that has been specifically designed to work with the Echo Park Photo Freedom System.  The 'Happy Little Moments' paper range was perfect for these wedding photographs as the colours are so complimentary.  Using the Echo Park Photo Freedom System allows you to concentrate on telling the story rather than making beautiful layouts of one photograph per page.  This system can get several photographs (in varying sizes on each page).  This layout is using the 4"x6" vertical size.  I used the Combo Pack, which has 2 sleeves each of different sized sleeves in each pack.

The brand new Graphic 45 Transatlantique paper range is designed to work with the Echo Park Photo Freedom System also but can work just as well on 12" x 12" layouts.  I will be showing more of these pages once completed.

Just a quick reminder - Ross Papercraft Show is on tomorrow (hope the rain holds off).  Thanks for stopping by.

SCRAP 365 Sketch: June

I've just popped over to the Scrap 365 Sketch Challenge Blog to see what the challenge is this month - and here it is:

The challenge runs from 17th May - 20th June 2013, so plenty of time to get those creative juices flowing.  This looks like a quite challenging sketch this month.  The sketch is based on a layout by Birgit Koopsen and if you pop over to the Challenge Blog here you will see the Design Team take on this sketch - fabulous!

I will be having a go (as always) just to challenge myself!  Using the monthly Sketch Challenge saves a lot of time thinking about what to do and leaves you more time actually 'doing it'.  I find it a real time saver, especially as every month I have to produce at least two layouts for the monthly scrapbook club.  I usually use one sketch and another layout of my own design.

How about giving this sketch a go!  I would love to see some of my blog followers joining in.  Let me know if you do.  Thanks for stopping by today.

This Baroque Mask sold out at the last show:

These are lovely quality masks that can be embossed through your embossing machines as well as used for stencilling using inks, paints and other mediums.

What would you use this mask for?  What medium would you use?  Leave a comment to let me know and I will enter your name into the blog candy draw for this month.  Thanks for stopping by today.

A SMASHing Time!

In the recent edition of Scrap365 there is an article on the SMASH Book by K & Company.  I found this very interesting because for ages I had been considering stocking this range because I loved how it could be adapted to scrapbook many different occasions.

As I reported on a few weeks back about Project Life - this is another way to capture those everyday memories as it is a quick way to record those 'moments'.  The beauty of the SMASH Book is that the pages are already designed for you to add your own ephemera and photo's without having to add much more to decorate.

This is one of the SMASH Books!

The SMASH range has specifically designed embellishments for 'Smashing':
Calendar Folders

 Calendar Tape

Birdie Bookmark

There are loads more embellishments in this range and I have started to stock this collection, which you can see here.

Have you used this range yet?  Is it available where you live?  Leave a comment to let me know.  Each comment equals one entry into the draw (if you are a follower).  Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Scrapbook Club: Gillian's Layout

This month at the Scrapbook Club I gave the members a choice of sketch challenges to use with their monthly kit to help with their layout creations.

I wanted to show you Gillian's layout using this layout and patterned papers from another kit I sell - Teresa Collins 'He Said She Said' range - 'She Said'.

This is the sketch that Gillian chose to get some inspiration from.  It's by Susan Stringfellow at www.SketchSavvy.blogspot.com

Gillian created her layout using patterned papers from the 'She Said' Collection Kit, adding Prima SIIC Clear Arrowheads as extra embellishments.

Another take on this sketch, using different patterned papers, making this layout truly Gillian's own creation.  A lovely choice for the photograph.  Thanks for sharing with us Gillian.

Leave a comment on this post and if you are a follower of this blog, I will enter your name into the blog candy draw.  Up for grabs this month is 'Five Prima Pretties' - good luck!

Scrapbook Club: Kate's Layouts

This month the Scrapbook Club Kit contained Teresa Collins 'Stationery Noted' patterned papers, Decorative Buttons and co-ordinating cardstockThe ladies were given a sketch challenge to enable them to complete their layouts.  Kate got some inspiration from the sketches but completed two layouts using her own layout ideas.

For this layout 'hard at work' Kate used the Bazzill Prism Gray Cardstock as the base and layered this up with the 'Poppies' patterned paper (used reverse side).  Her photographs and handwritten notes were matted onto the Bazzill Maraschino Cardstock.

Kate has also added some of those fab Prima SIIC Arrowheads in black.  I love the handwritten notes - gives this layout such a personal touch!

For her second layout (Muscles), Kate used the Bazzill Prism White Cardstock and one of those fab Tando Creative Masks (Incognito), with some red ink to create the frame around her photographs.  She has added small pieces of the Polaroids patterned paper (reverse side) and some of the Decorative Buttons as embellishments.

Two very striking layouts using this months kit, which can be found here.  Leave a comment for Kate on this post and if you are a follower, you will be entered into this month's draw. Thanks for stopping by.

Scrapbook Club: Karen's Layout

It was scrapbook club night last night (Mad Scrappers) and we were creating with this month's kit of Teresa Collins 'Stationery Noted' patterned papers (Poppies, Polaroids), co-ordinating cardstock and Teresa Collins 'Stationery Noted' Decorative Buttons.

There was lots of creativity, talking, drinking tea/coffee and munching on biscuits going on but in between that some club members managed to finish their layouts!

This month the club members were given a sketch challenge and this is one of the sketches that they had to choose from:

The sketch is by Susan Stringfellow at www.sketchSavvy.blogspot.com
Karen has recently been on a trip to Vegas and she used this sketch and one of the fabulous photographs from that trip to create this layout:

A fabulous photograph of Karen with the 'Brat Pack' (the boys) and a lovely interpretation of the sketch using this month's kit.  Thanks for sharing with us Karen.

If you leave a comment on this post for Karen today and you are a follower of this blog I will enter your name into the draw for your chance to win the 'Five Prima Pretties'.  Thanks for stopping by today.
