Oh Happy Day!

You know when you wake up and you just know it's going to be a good day - don't you?  Well (although it's Monday) I woke up like this today (I don't know why!).

So far, the day has been good:
  • Weather fair (looks like rain but I am indoors today, so I'm not particularly bothered about that)
  • Just had a delivery of a load of fab new products (these are secret until after the papercraft show on Sunday!)
  • I'm way ahead of organising things for Sunday (this is a first)
  • I think I will have a little play with my new products (well I have to make up some samples!)
Anyhow, I think I'll stop there before I tempt fate and the day goes downhill!  I will leave you with a lovely photo of Lucy opening her presents on her 18th Birthday last week.

Thanks for stopping by today - hope your day will be a happy one!

More from Lucy's Album

Lucy loved the scrapbook album I gave her on her 18th Birthday yesterday.  I promised I would show you some of the layouts I had included.  These are in no particular order:

'Angel' - taken on Christmas Day
'Where to Next' - taken at Sea World, Florida
'FAB' - taken on Christmas Day
 '(16)' - taken on Lucy's 16th Birthday
'Growing Up Fast' - taken on her Grandad's Birthday in January
I had so many layouts to choose from and many I didn't include as they will be put in another scrapbook album of all the family together.  This is why I love scrapbooking so much - looking back at all those happy times we create in a lifetime that bring back so many memories.
Thanks for stopping by today.  Please leave a comment so that I know you have passed by this way.

Wednesday, 19 June 2013

We were all truly blessed the day this little cutie was born.  These photographs, taken nearly 18 years ago shows my eldest Granddaughter on her Christening Day.

Today, Lucy is 18 - Happy Birthday!  This is the first page of the scrapbook album she will be getting today (along with her present).  I cannot believe she is 18 already as it just seems like no time ago that she was born.

I used some of the beautiful patterned papers from the Carta Bella 'Beautiful Moments' collection kit for this layout, which came together in no time at all.  I used a layout by Kerry Grant (Scrapbook Magazine, Issue 72) as inspiration.

I will be sharing some of the other layouts from Lucy's album with you over the next few days, so pop back and see what I have included.  There maybe some that you have seen before but plenty that you haven't.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Layouts using June Scrapbook Kit

I thought I would share with you some of the layouts from Wednesday's Mad Scrappers Club night.

Using this month's kit of Bo Bunny Mama-Razzi2 patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock, Prima Wood Icons (cameras), and a Prima Chalk Ink Edger, this is what was created by the members:

Capture the Moment by Linda L
Gotcha! - This is what Janice created using the kit
Gillian's creation
Brenda P. created this layout
I love how everyone gets the same kit but they put their own stamp on it by creating something completely different.  I do have more layouts - you can see them on Facebook.  I have some more layouts from last month that the club members were happy to share and I will feature those tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by today and best of luck in this month's draw.

70's babe

This is the second layout I have created with this months scrapbook kit of Bo Bunny Mama-Razzi2 patterned papers, Bazzill cardstock in Espresso, Yam and Walnut Cream, Prima Wooden Icons (cameras) and Prima Chalk Ink Edger.

The photograph is a polaroid from 1978 as I wanted to create a retro look for this layout using the remainder of the patterned papers from the kit.  I remember that brown and orange was a fashionable combination then and I was delighted when I came across this photograph of my youngest daughter as it was perfect for these papers!

I layered up the Espresso, Yam and Walnut Cream cardstock (gutting out the middles of the first two colours), before adding sections of the 'Contrast' patterned papers.  I inked up the wooden camera icon using the chalk ink edger as before and added Mama-Razzi2 Rub-ons around the outside of the Walnut Cream cardstock.  The title is American Crafts Thickers.

I have one scrapbook kit available to buy and it is available here.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today.  Please leave a comment so that I know you have passed by this way.

Photo Call

This is the full reveal of the first 'sneaky peek' I posted last week.  Using this month's scrapbook kit of Bo Bunny Mama-Razzi2 patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock, Prima Wood Icons (cameras) and Prima Chalk Ink Edger.

I used Bazzill Espresso as the base and layered this with Mama-Razzi patterned paper.  I distressed and inked the edges of all patterned papers throughout.

I used cut sections from 'Contrast' patterned paper and made Filmstrip Frames from Espresso cardstock (used a Filmstrip Frames Die).  I made tags from sections of the Contrast patterned paper by adding eyelets and string and cut banner shapes from the same paper.

For the title I used Cosmo Cricket Scripty rub-ons.  I inked the Wood Camera Icon with the Chalk Ink Edger and attached to the layout when dry.

I will reveal the other 'sneaky peek' tomorrow - so pop back then.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Please leave a comment so that I know you have passed by this way.

Club Birthday in pictures!

Just to say a big 'Thank you' to everyone who attended the Mad Scrappers Club last night.  We celebrated our 1st birthday with a cake and some (non-alcoholic) drinks and everyone was happy as you will see from the photo's.  I dread to think how we would have been if there was alcohol involved!

 Not one, but two cakes!
Plenty of 'fizz'!

Plenty of eating and drinking!

and laughter .......!
The night was also tinged with sadness as we said 'goodbye' to Paulette, who is moving away from the area and this was her last night at the club!  Paulette has been with us for nearly 6 years - when we were previously located in Boldon C.A. at our last club.  Sorry I couldn't give you a long service medal Paulette but enjoy your scrapbook album!

Edna presented Paulette with her beautiful card (made by Julia) and her present of a scrapbook album

I will be back tomorrow with some of the layouts the ladies have created.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Please leave a comment so that I know you have passed by this way.

Happy 1st Birthday!

It's a 'Happy 1st Birthday' to our scrapbook club (Mad Scrappers) today.  This past year has been fab and we have had new members start and a couple leave (due to various family reasons).  We still have a strong club membership of over 20 ladies, some I have known from a previous club and we have now crafted together for nearly 6 years!

Tonight at the club we will celebrate our 1st birthday together (as Mad Scrappers) with a (non-alcoholic) drink and of course some birthday cake!

Since we started last year we have scrapped with kits including patterned papers from Glitz Design, Bazzill, Graphic 45, Fancy Pants, Echo Park, Prima, Teresa Collins and Bo Bunny.  Future kits will included fabulous patterned papers from Basic Grey, My Mind's Eye and other leading manufacturers.

We have had techniques or new products that have included Canvas Sheets & Dye-Ink Pads, Journal Cards & Stickers, Ranger Distress Pen, Die-cuts & Corrugated Paper, Washi Tape, Paint Dabber, Ranger Distress Ink Pad, Alphabet Stickers, Roller Doodle, Decorative Buttons and Wood Icons & Chalk Ink Edger!  Whew! such a lot of products and still more to come.

I have loved every minute of the club nights and the extra Scrapbook Saturday Workshops we have had as well and look forward to the next year being as successful as the last.  Thank you ladies for making this happen.  Cheers to you all.

I will take some photo's tonight and post them here tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by.

June Scrapbook Kit: another sneaky peek!

This is the second 'sneaky peek' of one of the layouts I have created using this month's scrapbook kit of Bo Bunny Mama-Razzi2 patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock, Prima Wood Icons (cameras) and a Prima Chalk Ink Edger.
I have to confess in using some of the fab Bo Bunny Mama-Razzi2 rub-ons on this layout (not included in the kit!).

I know, not much of a peek - but all will be revealed in good time.  It is the Scrapbook Club tomorrow night and I have some news about that also - but you will have to wait until tomorrow!

If you fancy having a go with this month's kit - you can find it here.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a good one, whatever you are doing.

June Scrapbook Kit: sneaky peek!

I said I would give you a sneaky peek of the layouts I have created using this month's scrapbook kit of Bo Bunny Mama Razzi2 patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock, Prima Wood Icons (cameras) and Prima Chalk Edger.

This is a little sneaky peek of the first of two layouts:

I know it's not much of a 'sneaky peek' - will reveal in full after the club on Wednesday.  In the meantime you can view the kit we will be using here.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Please leave a comment to let me know that you have passed by this way.

Scrapbook Club is expanding!

As I previously posted I am expanding the Scrapbook Club (Mad Scrappers) as from this September. I already run the club on the second Wednesday of each month and now I have a confirmed starting date of Wednesday 25th September 2013 from 6.30 p.m. - 9.00 p.m. for the next regular monthly club night.

The location is South Shields in a pretty easy to reach location (just off the John Reid Road). The cost is £10.00 per month (paid by a subscription, 2 months in advance). This price includes a monthly scrapbook kit using brand new paper products, co-ordinating cardstock and either a new technique or new product each month. The kits retail value is at least £7.50 so for the other £2.50 you are getting class instruction by a qualified tutor, your own scrapping space (table of your own to work on), in a lovely modern hall with kitchen facilities with tea/coffee/biscuits provided - and above all a lovely atmosphere with lovely crafters who will make you feel very welcome.

All levels are catered for and there is even a chance to win some crafting goodies each month! Interested? Just message me or email me at to register your interest and for further information. Interest in this extra monthly scrapbook class is already high - so don't miss out! Looking forward to you joining us in September.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by today.  Good luck in the blog candy draw.
