Club Members Layouts

This month's Mad Scrappers Club Kit consisted of MME Kate & Co. Oxford Lane patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock and technique of stamping on acetate with a StazOn Ink Pad.  Some brave members attempted the stamping technique but didn't finish on time to show their creations on this post.  Others decided to play safe and just use the patterned papers and cardstock to create their page.  I have a couple of those layouts to show today - hopefully we will get some stamping technique ones to show here next month, once they have finished them at home.

First up is Brenda P. who used one of the sketches with the kit to create this layout:

I love the layout but no sign of any acetate - maybe on the next one Brenda!

Linda S. used the reverse side of one of the patterned papers to create this layout.  It is quite bold but it works - but still no sign of any stamping on acetate!  I love the 'Mickey Mouse' head made from buttons - well it was Disney Land Paris.

Finally, a layout from Beryl from August's Club Kit of Fancy Pants patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock and the technique of using cork and cork shapes.

This is a lovely fresh and lively layout, using the patterned papers and cardstock very well to compliment the lovely photographs.  I love those cork arrows - one of my favourite embellishments of this year.

Thank you ladies for allowing me to show them.  Please leave a comment for the club members, so that I know you have passed by this way.  I will draw for the Blog Candy tomorrow - so pop back then.

This is a lovely rich Purple Glitter Tape.

This is the dramatic Black Glitter Tape.

Both of these Glitter Tapes would just add that extra sparkle to all your Halloween projects.  They are both available HERE.

Check out all the new products added in the last week HERE.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Last chance tomorrow to leave a comment and then I will draw for the Blog Candy on Tuesday.

Prima Holiday Jubilee

I now have the fabulous, gorgeous, beautiful range that is Prima Holiday Jubilee now in stock (can you tell I like it!).  I predict this is going to be a popular range and that I am going to sell out well before the Pins and Needles Show next month.

Holiday Jubilee - Chilly

Holiday Jubilee - Christmas Morning

Holiday Jubilee - North Pole

There are 8 lovely designs in this range, plus some beautiful Christmas Flowers:

You can find them (while stocks last) ..... HERE.

Just a quick post today - back tomorrow with a longer update.  Thanks for stopping by.

Masquerade Party

Teresa Collins fabulous Halloween paper range called 'Masquerade Party' is now available to buy from The Scrapbook Garden.  Here is a little taster:

'Halloween Collage'

'Brocade'

'Banner'

There are 9 patterned papers in this collection (and I have them all - but not for long I suspect!).  These 3 patterns are foiled on one side.  These are limited in stock as Halloween isn't as popular over here as it is in the States, so I have only ordered a small amount of this range.  It is really selling fast!  I have some lovely Sticker Accessory Sheets that co-ordinate as well.  Pop over and have a look - you can find all these lovelies HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today.  If you leave a comment and you are a blog follower, I will enter your name into the draw for this month - I will draw next Tuesday 1st October.  Good luck!

A Bugs Life

This is the second reveal of the sneaky peeks I showed about 2 weeks ago.  Using the Mad Scrappers Club kit of  MME Kate & Co. Oxford Lane patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock and the technique of stamping on acetate using a Midnight Blue StazOn Ink Pad - this is what I created.

For this layout I used a sketch from Sketch Savvy.  I used Bazzill Lime Crush for the base and layered this with Bazzill Avalanche.  I layered both 'Floral Burst' and 'Fresh' patterned papers onto the layered cardstock, and matted my photograph onto some of the Lime Crush cardstock.

Both journal cards are cut from 'Enjoy' patterned paper and the title is American Crafts Thickers (inked with the StazOn ink pad).  I inked a butterfly stamp with the StazOn ink pad and stamped onto the white cardstock and the acetate.  I cut around the butterfly wings on the acetate and adhered them to the layout using a tiny amount of Glossy Accents on the body of the butterfly.

We had our second club night last night, where we welcomed 6 new members!  Some lovely stamping on acetate going on, but like the first club night, some members have taken longer to create with the kit this month.  I will show some finished ones in the next few days.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Leave a comment so that I know you have passed by this way.

Enjoy the Journey

This is the full reveal of the first 'sneaky peek' I posted two weeks ago.  Using this month's Mad Scrappers Kit of MME Oxford Lane patterned papers, co-ordinating cardstock, acetate sheet and a StazOn Ink Pad - this is what I created.

I used a sketch by Susan Stringfellow at Sketch Savvy BlogSpot for this layout, adapting it to suit my photographs and theme of the layout.

As the technique this month was stamping on acetate, I decided to use the StazOn Ink Pad to create my own frame.  Using a wooden 'lolly' stick, I inked this up and randomly stamped around the outer edges of the acetate (cut to size to cover the photograph).  This is a good idea if you have corners or edges of photographs that you would like to hide by using a fancy swirl or a flowers stamp and stamp into the corners.

Making a frame around your photograph like this focuses the eye to the main part of the photo, away from other distracting elements.  I deliberately wanted to leave the car wheel in the photo as it is part of the 'journey' theme in the title.

Beauty

The Scrap365 Sketch Challenge for October is this sketch by Lisa Saunders:

I decided to give this one a try and using MME Find Your Wings and Fly 'Up and Away' patterned papers, created this layout that I am entering into this sketch challenge.

I used a photograph of my Granddaughter and her friends, all dressed up in their 'Prom dresses' for their 6th Form Prom this Summer.  I used Bazzill Two Scoops 'Watermelon Sherbet' cardstock for the base and layered this with MME patterned paper called 'Be Awesome' from the Find Your Wings and Fly range.  I added some strips of paper Lace Borders (which I coloured pink) to the top and bottom of the layout.  I inked up some paper doilies and tucked them under the matted photograph.  The journal card is cut from another patterned paper from the same range called 'Always' and this was matted onto some of the cardstock and tucked behind the photograph.

The flowers are Prima paper flowers (from way back), to which I added a button and gem to the centre.  MME patterned papers, Lace Borders and Bazzill Two Scoops cardstock can be found HERE.

Have you tried this sketch challenge yet?  Give it a go!  Thanks for stopping by today.  Leave a comment so that I know you have passed by this way.

Christmas at Lumley Castle

The Mad Scrappers Club will be going to Lumley Castle for their Christmas Night out.  "The castle is more than 600 years old and it's magnificent site dominates the County Durham landscape.  Surrounded by beautiful parklands overlooking the River Wear and Durham County Cricket Ground, Lumley Castle is a magnificent monument to a bygone age of chivalry and honour" (description taken from their website).

We will be eating a four-course feast with fine wine and entertainment by the Lords and Ladies of the Court of Lumley.

This is the magnificent Barons Hall, where we will be dining.  I know it's 3 month's away but I cannot wait!  It has been years since I have been here and I am looking forward to spending a lovely evening with the ladies from our club.  I am sure we will get chance to take some fab photo's (for scrapping of course).

Thanks for stopping by today.  Please leave a comment to let me know you have passed by this way.

Brag Book: 18th Birthday

I have completed another couple of pages of my Brag Book - this time recording my Granddaughter's 18th Birthday in June.

I used some of that fab Glitter Frosting Paste on the first of these two pages and two masks to create the words 'Happy Birthday' and that lovely glitzy star.

As well as the Glitter Frosting Paste, I added some canvas banners and added the word 'celebrate' cut from card on the Cricut machine.

On this page I used up some stickers and rub-ons left over from previous projects to create this layout.  These books are great for using all those bits and pieces that you may never use but don't want to waste.

Another celebration captured in my Brag Book!  Thanks for stopping by today.  Leave a comment and if you are a follower of this blog I will enter your name into draw for this month's blog candy.

Handbag Authentique Style!

I love the fab new range from Authentique called 'Natural', especially the colours!  One of the patterned papers caught my eye and I thought it would make a lovely Tando Creative Chipboard Handbag and this is the result.

Using one of the Authentique 'Natural' patterned papers called 'Beaming', which can be found HERE as part of the new range and a Ranger Distress Ink Pad called 'Peacock Feathers' - this is what I created.

I usually use the reverse side of the patterned paper for the side panels but I decided to use the same paper all the way around the handbag on this one.

To complete I covered the clasp of the bag with the reverse side of the patterned paper and added some pearls to the inked part to add some bling.  I added some little bows to the edge of the handles as contrast.

It has been ages since I made one of these cute bags and should by now have quite a selection but they usually end up being given away as little gifts.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Please leave a comment so that I know you have passed by this way and if you are a blog follower, I will enter your name into the draw for this month.

The Authentique range of products are back at The Scrapbook Garden after a long absence.  I have always loved this manufacturer's range of patterned papers but for some reason I was unable to find a British distributor until recently.  Anyhow, I will start by showing you their new range called  'Natural'.

I was so excited by this range I have actually made something with it already!  Pop back tomorrow when I will reveal all.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Brenda's Layout

Brenda B created this fab layout using the Mad Scrapper's Kit from June that included patterned papers from Bo Bunny Mama-Razzi2 and co-ordinating cardstock.  The technique was using Wood Icons and a chalk edger, both from Prima.

I love this layout about her hubby's camera collection - priceless!  I especially love the addition of the camera film labels and her title "just how many cameras does one person need!"  To me this is what scrapbooking is all about - recording the things we do, the people we love, the places we visit - the list is endless really.

What do you like to scrap?  Leave a comment to let me know and I will enter your name into the blog candy draw for this month.  Thanks for stopping by.

Mad Scrappers: update

I thought I would give you an update on our first club night of this month.  It was a bit strange as we went from over 20 club members to under 10 last night.  Many reasons for this.  Obviously, the main reason is that I have now made two club nights from one large club and 6 new members have joined us.  This means that each club night will be smaller.  Last night was smaller again simply because a lot of people were on holiday.

The night was very reminiscence of our club nights at our previous club in Boldon.  It was lovely though to actually have the time to go around everyone and have a chat as well as see what everyone was up to.  The technique of stamping on acetate (as I suspected) filled some with dread but some plucky souls did give it a go and I saw some really lovely butterflies being produced by this technique.

Unfortunately, not everyone completed their layouts so I will leave those for another time to show you.  Ann G however, brought along a lovely layout she had completed using the kit from last month.

This kit last month used patterned papers from Fancy Pants 'What a Wonderful Day', co-ordinating cardstock and cork arrows and cork self-adhesive sheets as the technique.  Ann created this layout using the sketch from Susan Stringfellow at Sketch Savvy and instead of 'Fun in the Sun' named her layout 'Fun Walking in the Rain!'.  Love the umbrellas Ann.

Thanks for sharing with us Ann.  I look forward to sharing completed layouts from this month's Mad Scrappers Club after the second club night on 25th September.  I will also do the full reveal of my sneaky peeks layouts then.
Leave a comment so that I know you have passed by this way.  Thanks for stopping by.
