The menu consisted of Barons Brose (vegetable broth), Succulent Spare Ribs (pork ribs cooked in a red wine and herb sauce), Checkyn in Mead (chicken seasoned in honey and mace) with jacket potato and mixed salad and to finish a Christmas Pudding. We had to eat either with our fingers or with the aid of a knife for the main course, with exception of the Christmas Pudding, for which we were given a spoon. The broth was eaten by 'dunk 'n suck' method - dunk the bread and suck up the broth! That is why everyone is wearing the latest in designer bibs!
The entertainment by the Lords and Ladies of the Court of Lumley got us all in the Christmas spirit. Thank you to everyone who attended - a great night was had by all.
